Liam McNeeley, UConn Huskies forward, reacted to his teammate, Tarris Reed, winning the Big East Sixth Man of the Year award for the 2024-2025 season. The news was announced on Monday, and McNeeley had an eye-catching reaction on the post.

McNeeley and Reed have been teammates for the UConn Huskies ever since they both joined the team last year. This is of course, Liam McNeeley’s first year in college basketball, while Reed played for the Michigan Wolverines before the UConn Huskies, from 2022 to 2024.

In this college basketball season, Tarris Reed has a ten-point-per-game average, with 7.3 rebounds per matchup and 1.1 helpers in every game played. Meanwhile, McNeeley has an impressive 14.7 point average, with 6.2 rebounds and 2.5 assists per matchup.

With talented played like McNeeley and Reed in their roster, the UConn Huskies finished their regular season in third position of the Big East table with a 14-6 conference score and 22-9 overall. The Huskies finished two spots below the ruling St. John’s Red Storm who have an 18-2 conference score and 27-4 overall on the season.

On another note, Liam McNeeley and the UConn Huskies are getting ready for the Big East Tournament finals this weekend. The UConn Huskies took on the Seton Hall Pirates in the previous game of the Big East playoffs and won the game with a final score of 81-50. Before that, UConn was paired with the Marquette Golden Eagles for their last game of the regular season, and won with a final score of 72-66.

Against the Seton Hall Pirates, the UConn Huskies were led on the scoreboard by Solo Ball who chalked up 17 points for the team, along with three rebounds and a solo assist. Alex Karaban and Samson Johnson each matched 14 points for the team. Karaban grabbed ten boards, the highest for the team in this category, while Hassan Diarra’s six assists led the Huskies here.

Currently, the UConn Huskies are riding a four-game winning streak, and will definitely try to finish their season with a bang before moving on to March Madness. In this college basketball season, the UConn Huskies are mainly led in offense by Solo Ball who has a 14-8 point average, while Liam McNeeley is second with a 14.7 point average per game.
