On Wednesday, LiAngelo Ball, Chicago Bulls guard Lonzo Ball’s brother who is known in the rap music world as “G3,” found himself referenced during his brother’s highlight play early in the first quarter against the Indiana Pacers.
Lonzo intercepted Tyrese Haliburton’s pass to Andrew Nembhard to initiate a fastbreak. Haliburton tried to chase after Ball to no avail as the Bulls guard finished the play with a left-handed layup.
Bulls announcer Adam Amin found himself with a clever call to the highlight. “He’s able to swerve, bend that corner,” Amin said.

Many who heard Amin’s call understood the reference. A week ago, LiAngelo Ball, as “G3,” released a debut track entitled “Tweaker,” with a chorus line that goes, “I might swerve, bend that corner, woah.” The song recently entered the top ten on the US Spotify chart, ranking eighth with over a million streams.

Lonzo Ball’s first-quarter fastbreak play was one of the few highlights the Bulls had over the Pacers. He finished with five points, three rebounds, and one assist in 19 minutes of play. The Pacers defeated the Bulls, 129-113.
Meanwhile, LiAngelo’s NBA career was not as successful as he wanted it to be, but it seems like he may thrive in the world of music. His brothers Lonzo and LaMelo Ball have been seen jiving to their basketball-player-turned-artist brother’s hit single.
Lonzo Ball doesn’t take credit for lyrics in LiAngelo Ball’s “Tweaker”
LiAngelo Ball’s brother Lonzo has said in the past that he would have pursued being a rapper if he did not make it to the NBA. In his nearly three-year absence from the sport to rehabilitate his knee injuries, he revealed that he would sometimes write songs and record them in a music studio.
When LiAngelo aka “G3’s” single “Tweaker” became a hit, fans immediately credited Lonzo for its lyrics. However, “Zo” debunked the false accreditations.
“Only credit I deserve is the cover art lol G really that!” Lonzo said on X.

Lonzo and LiAngelo Ball also co-host a podcast together, called “What An Experience With Lonzo Ball.” The former LA Lakers star has repeatedly said that his brother has untapped potential; it did not turn out to be in basketball, but instead in the music world.
While LiAngelo has not given up on his dream to team up with his brothers in the NBA, it seems that he will have to put it aside in the meantime to focus on his musical career.
