Los Angeles Sparks rookie Cameron Brink ended her rookie season prematurely, missing all the hardwood action due to an unfortunate injury. However, it doesn’t stop her from being the up-and-coming fashion icon that she is.
Known as one of the WNBA’s most fashionable young stars, Brink flaunted her style in a recent night out with her friends. She wore a blue and gray cropped tank top and a mini skirt, paired with knee-high boots that emphasize her height. She completed the look with a blue jacket and a handbag.
She posted pictures of the night out on her Instagram, which has over 70,000 likes and counting.
Despite the untimely end of her rookie season in the WNBA, the 22-year-old Brink has already put the basketball world on notice. She was selected second overall in the 2024 WNBA Draft by the Sparks. Prior to that, she was an NCAA standout, with two Pac-12 Player of the Year and three Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year awards to her name.
Brink is also connected to Golden State Warriors’ Steph Curry, his mother Sonya being her godmother.
Cameron Brink has gone under the knife for her ACL injury
Cameron Brink was supposed to play in the 2024 Paris Olympics as part of Team USA women’s 3×3 team. Unfortunately, her Olympic dreams were shattered by an ACL injury during a game against the Connecticut Sun on June 18.
The injury happened in the first quarter of the game. Brink sped to the basket against Sun forward Brionna Jones, landed awkwardly on her foot, and collapsed in pain, grabbing her left knee. She couldn’t leave the court in her own power, requiring support from the team staff.
A month later, the rookie shared an update regarding her injury, thanking her fans for cheering her on.
“Chillin’ on the road to recovery … Thank you all for the well wishes. I’m feeling extremely encouraged, supported, and ready to make small strides everyday,” she said in her caption.
The Sparks are definitely feeling Brink’s absence on the court. She was averaging 7.5 points, 5.3 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 1.1 steals, and 2.3 blocks per game until she got injured. The team has lost 19 of its last 21 games, including eight straight games from June to July. After a brief reprieve, it went on a second losing streak that continued with its Sunday loss to the Dallas Wings.
