The Los Angeles Clippers are currently preoccupied with the future of Paul George as they attempt to negotiate a contract extension with the nine-time All-Star. While this might be the Clippers’ top priority this summer, it also goes without saying that LA is also looking to see how they can improve their current roster.
One star who has now been linked to a potential return is Golden State Warriors guard Chris Paul, who himself is expected to enter NBA free agency in the offseason.
Los Angeles Clippers Looking to Reunite With Chris Paul

Paul was an integral part of arguably the most successful era in Clippers history. CP3 played six seasons in LA between 2011 and 2017, and along with Blake Griffin, they served as the superstar core of the famed Clippers Lob City.
Paul is no longer the show-stopper he once was, but it appears that LA still sees some value in a potential reunion with their prodigal son. This report comes via NBA insider Marc Stein:
“The Clippers, I’m told, should be added to the list of teams that could emerge as a suitor for potential free agent Chris Paul. Caveats are immediately required in this situation, since Paul might not even make it to free agency if the Warriors decide next month to keep him or trade hin to a team that wants to keep him.
“I nonetheless heard this week that Paul and Kyle Lowry, whose free agency is looming after finishing last season in Philadelphia, are veteran guards said to interest the Clippers … with a further variable to factor in stemming from Russell Westbrook’s still-to-be determined status. Westbrook has a $4 million player option for next season that he must decide on by June 29,” Stein wrote (h/t Tomer Azarly of ClutchPoints).

As Stein indicated, Kyle Lowry is another name to watch for the Clippers as they look to add a tested veteran playmaker to their backcourt. While Lowry does have an elite resume himself, there’s no denying that the bigger name here is Paul, especially for the Clippers faithful.
