Paul George will NOT be returning to the Los Angeles Clippers. The six-time All-NBA swingman met with his incumbent team on Sunday as soon as free agency opened, and unfortunately, both sides remained far apart in their negotiations.
This led to George informing the Clippers that he won’t be returning for the upcoming season — a divorce that has been a long time coming.
Los Angeles Clippers Kept Paul George in the Dark

NBA insider Brian Windhorst of ESPN dropped a crucial piece of information on Sunday. Apparently, the Clippers never informed George about Kawhi Leonard’s new contract when it happened:
“Here’s the problem: when they signed Kawhi to that deal — whatever it was last December or January — they never told Paul George about it. Paul George found out about it when the rest of the world found out about it.”

In truth, the Clippers had no obligation to inform George. However, this was a significant development that would have impacted George’s future with the team, which is why it would probably be safe to assume that the nine-time All-Star, at that time, felt like he deserved to know.

As Windhorst said, this is a good example of how the Clippers treated George, who for his part, feels that he did not get the respect he deserves during his time in LA.
At this point, the relationship has become irreconcilable and both parties have now decided to move on after a five-year marriage.
