Los Angeles Clippers big man Ivica Zubac is currently in Greece after taking part in the recently-concluded Olympic Qualifying Tournament. Unfortunately, Zubac and the Croatian national squad lost out to Greece in the Final as the Croatians had to settle for second place.
Zubac and his teammates decided to blow off some steam after the loss by heading to a local bar in Athens. Little did they know that a night of celebration would turn violent.
Los Angeles Clippers News: Ivica Zubac Involved in Bar Fight in Greece
Video footage of the disturbing fight is currently making its rounds on social media. In it, Zubac is seen in a heated altercation with a group of unidentified men outside of a local bar. Croatia teammate Dario Saric, who recently signed with the Denver Nuggets as a free agent, got involved too:
NBA players Ivica Zubac & Dario Saric were involved in a bar fight near Athens, Greece early this morning (around 5:30 AM local time) — following their game (Team Croatia) against Greece.
Much of the confrontation was caught on video.
At one point, another man seems to put Saric… pic.twitter.com/Y72trC76Mn— michael j. babcock (@mikejbabcock) July 8, 2024
As you may have seen in the video, it was Saric who ended up on the ground after he was supposedly placed in a chokehold by another man during the altercation. For his part, it appears that Zubac avoided getting physically involved in the fight — at least in the above clip.
The full details of the skirmish remain unclear, but as the above report indicates, it does not seem like the police had to be called in to intervene. This just appears to be a typical testosterone-filled, alcohol-laced bar fight.
It’s just a good thing no one got hurt as this could have been a much uglier incident.
