The Los Angeles Clippers managed to keep one of their key rotation players this summer, as they’ve signed Terance Mann to a new three-year, $47 million contract extension, per Shams Charania of The Athletic.
ClutchPoints’ Tomer Azarly added that Mann’s new contract is fully guaranteed and won’t have a player or team option attached to the final year. Before this, Terance Mann was set to play out the final year of a two-year, $22 million contract, so he gets a bump up in salary with this new deal.
Mann has played for the Los Angeles Clippers for the first five years of his NBA career. The former Florida State star played 75 regular season games (71 starts) for LA in 2023-24, averaging 8.8 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 1.6 assists on 51.5 percent shooting from the field in 25.0 minutes per game.
Following Paul George’s departure to the Philadelphia 76ers, Terance Mann will continue to start with James Harden in the backcourt alongside Kawhi Leonard, Derrick Jones Jr., and Ivica Zubac in the frontcourt.
Los Angeles Clippers offseason thus far
After losing Paul George, Mason Plumlee, Russell Westbrook, and Daniel Theis in free agency, the Los Angeles Clippers tried to compensate by signing Derrick Jones Jr., Kris Dunn, Nicolas Batum, Kevin Porter Jr., and Mo Bamba while extending James Harden and Ivica Zubac to separate multiyear contracts.
Team owner Steve Ballmer expressed his optimism about LA’s chances to compete in the Western Conference this upcoming season, saying they are one of the “good teams” in the league.
