Anthony Davis is on a journey to master the art of three-point shooting for the upcoming games. During his recent preseason run, Davis made 4.3 attempts from downtown, notably more than his tries in the past seasons.
Basketball analyst Tim from the Basketball Index, a.k.a McCranjis Basketball, delved into how Anthony Davis would fare in three points. While discussing with Lakers insider Juva Bach, Cranjis is optimistic about seeing Davis attempt to add more to their arsenal by shooting from afar.
“I try not to get too excited about the little glimpses we might see here or there. This happening now makes me blindly hope that they’re seeing him put up awesome shooting behind the scenes on much higher volume that we can’t see,” Cranjis said.

However, Cranjis also believes that if Anthony Davis fails to shoot threes, it’ll be more plausible if he returns to shooting from paint. He also prefers to continue seeing Davis focusing on defense simultaneously and not sacrificing it in exchange for more attempts from downtown
“I’d rather just throw him the ball in the post and let him go to work than have them pick and pop or do different things. And from a gravity standpoint, if we talk about how it bends the defense, it’s really going to take a lot of volume and success to move defenses off.”
Out of 107 three-point attempts, Anthony Davis only made 29 in the last season, averaging 27.1%. Next season, the Lakers expect him to provide more on the offense and contribute more to the court.

Anthony Davis prepared to face formidable opponent at the start of the NBA season
The Los Angeles Lakers and their big man, Anthony Davis, are to face the Minnesota Timberwolves as they return to the court on October 23. Despite the challenges the Timberwolves face, Davis remains quietly stern yet composed to engage their opponents on the court.
In an interview with the reporters, Anthony Davis anticipated the threat posed by the Timberwolves, especially when they battled his team during the preseason. However, Davis also said that he and his team are always ready for every game and determined to score a victory for the Lakers.
“They looked good in the preseason. Minus the scores, for the most part they looked good on both ends of the floor. But what we do know is we gonna come in everyday put our heart and soul to prepare for every night, and put ourselves in the best position to win basketball games,” Davis said.

The Lakers previously lost against the Timberwolves during the preseason, 124-107. However, Davis wasn’t there to aid his team. In the opening match, he returns to the court, aiming to overcome the obstacles of their opening night.
