Everyone and their mother knows that the Los Angeles Lakers need to make wholesale changes if they want to even have a sniff of the Larry O’Brien trophy next season.
They’ve already taken steps to improve their chances as much as possible. JJ Redick has taken Darvin Ham’s place as head coach. They’ve also taken in exciting talents in the recently concluded NBA Draft who will help them thrive off the bench.

There’s also the assurance that Rob Pelinka and company will not stop at these as they will look to retool the squad. Both of the team’s star players want to win it all next season, and the leadership is more than happy to give in to those demands.
However, these exciting offseason actions mean that many of the current players donning the Purple and Gold will also be sent off to other teams. D’Angelo Russell is one of the players who will likely get the boot in the offseason.
The guard the Lakers picked second overall in the 2015 NBA Draft will be a great trade piece for any superstar the team would want to target. With such a cloud looming over DLo’s future, it’s understandable that he could possibly be all up in his feelings.
D’Angelo Russell posts message on social media regarding his future with the Los Angeles Lakers

Russell posted on his social media to express his frustration over his situation with the Lakers. However, he backtracked and explained that his tweet wasn’t about basketball at all.
Per The Spun’s Chris Rosvoglou:
Moments ago, Russell tweeted, “Wow.” Naturally, many people assumed this was his reaction to the Lakers moving on from him.
Russell, however, claims his post has nothing to do about his future with the Lakers.
“Sorry has nothing to do with basketball,” Russell said. “I’m on this podcast wave. Checkout @The_BackyardPod also follow us on snap.”
Even if Russell didn’t intentionally mean to talk about ball, he should have known better that people would scrutinize every word he utters or writes. Since he finished the 2023-24 season with 18.0 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 6.3 assists, he will be highly involved in any trade for a third star.

Until the season is officially underway, he should be more careful with what he says.
