The pro basketball game is closely tied to rap, and the Los Angeles Lakers are no strangers to seeing some of the world’s most famous rappers sit courtside during one of their games. It’s also not a strange sight to see some of the best cagers show up at the biggest hip-hop concerts in the world.

The City of Angels produced its fair share of amazing basketball players and rappers to grace the American mainstream. Every one of these personalities impacted their respective fields in their own unique way, making them one of the city’s best representations.

Many of the city’s top celebrities got together at the Forum on the night of Juneteenth to celebrate the city they all call home. Even those who moved into the city were treated to a spectacle that hasn’t been seen in such a long time.

Kendrick Lamar is one of LA’s most popular rappers, treating NBA players and hip-hop fans with countless bops and classic albums everyone has enjoyed in the past two decades.

His most recent beef with Drake had produced some of the most memorable songs of the year. The Humble rapper decided to celebrate the West Coast with his Pop Out concert that featured some of the best artists to come out of California.

It was an amazing event that had many of the best artists and athletes in attendance. Even LeBron James was amazed by the amount of artistry displayed on stage:

NBA fans who managed to catch the event saw Russell Westbrook and DeMar DeRozan have fun with some of the West Coast’s biggest artists on stage while the entirety of the Forum was singing along to Not Like Us, Lamar’s victory lap that saw him finish his run of tirades on his Canadian opponent.

You can expect to hear more Kendrick Lamar songs being blared out during NBA games throughout California. But if we look at how viral the entire beef has been, it won’t be weird to hear any of Kung Fu Kenny’s diss tracks being played throughout the league.

    Maybe except Toronto.
