Los Angeles Lakers governor Jeanie Buss can relate to having a parent-child dynamic in the workplace, as he worked under her late father for years before taking over the team.
In a recent interview with Chuck Schilken of the LA Times, Jeanie Buss was asked about her thoughts on LeBron and Bronny James soon to become the first father-son duo in the NBA. She said that the two of them are prepared for such an arrangement.
You know, I never had that conversation with LeBron or Bronny, but in business situations, I addressed my father as Dr. Buss,” Jeanie Buss explained. “I wanted to keep that boundary clear because that helped us out—we weren’t bringing work home to the dinner table. So I think LeBron and Bronny are very prepared for this. And I’m excited just for them to have this opportunity.”
“But Bronny is a good player. I’m excited to see what our new coach, JJ Redick, has in store. It’s definitely gonna be an interesting season for sure. I mean, LeBron, the way he played at the Olympics? He might be the greatest of all time,” she added.

Jeanie Buss couldn’t wait for the new NBA season to start because she believes the Los Angeles Lakers can play for another championship.
“In terms of my expectations for the team, I can sit here and tell you — Lakers always play for a championship, as we know, between Kobe Bryant and Magic Johnson and Phil Jackson and Pat Riley and Dr. Buss. That’s who we are. What I really want is for the games to start so that we can watch what these guys are gonna do,” Buss said.
