JJ Redick strengthens Los Angeles Lakers HC rumors with NBA Finals declaration
Various basketball fans are on the fence when it comes to JJ Redick taking over the Los Angeles Lakers. Some believe that he’s shown enough basketball IQ through his broadcast work and podcasts that he has the brains to succeed as a head coach.
Others openly question whether a person who hasn’t coached a single NBA game has what it takes to hold on to such a position for a long time. While no one is denying Redick’s coaching chops, they believe that it’s far too early for him to take over the mantle of such an important job.
However, it seems like the Purple and Gold are sold with Redick’s vision and what he wants to achieve. In a recent interview, he said that he aims to bring the Lakers back to the promised land of the NBA Finals, per Larry Brown of Larry Brown Sports:
“My focus is on the NBA Finals. In terms of [the report], that will be addressed once the season is over. I’ll just say that,” Redick said.

Redick is a popular figure who was rose from being a cocky sharpshooter with the Duke Blue Devils to a trusted NBA analyst. He’s showcased his brilliance as a basketball mind and will thrive as a head coach under the right conditions.
