Kobe Bryant would most likely be the first name to come out of many Los Angeles Lakers fans’ mouths if you ask them about who the most influential player in the team’s rich history has been.
For such a man to get such reverence from the fans despite the pantheon of great players who have donned the Purple and Gold over the years is a testament to how great of a superstar and athlete Kobe was.
Players candidly talk about the Hall of Famer’s time in Hollywood, while items he interacted with during his playing career are fetching big numbers in auctions. The fact that fans still revere him four years after he lost his life in an accident shows how beloved he is as a competitor.
The Lakers organization knows how important Bryant is in Laker lore and plans to honor him even further with another special gesture. However, fans won’t be able to catch a glimpse of it any time soon.
The Los Angeles Lakers won’t reveal new Kobe Bryant statue in the coming season
The Lakers have already honored Bryant with two statues around Crypto.com Arena, and they’re reportedly making moves to add a fourth one to the collection.
While that’s an impressive feat no one has ever done in their lives, fans would have to wait a bit before seeing what it would look like.
Per Lakers Nation’s Ron Gutterman:
The third statue, set to honor the No. 24 part of his playing career, was at one point reported to be unveiled at some point during the 2024-25 season. However, it appears that plans have since changed, according to Khobi Price of the Southern California News Group:
The Lakers say there are not any plans to unveil a third Kobe Bryant statue during the 2024-25 season.
The first Kobe statue outside of https://t.co/rqCpumuUGv Arena was unveiled on 2/8/24. The Kobe and Gianna Bryant statue was unveiled on 8/2/24.

It’s easy to see why the Purple and Gold would want to honor the man who dedicated his entire career to the Lakers. In his 20 years with the franchise, he averaged an impressive 25.0 PPG, 5.2 RPG, 4.7 APG, and 1.4 SPG. He provided countless moments that basketball fans would remember for the rest of their lives.
It will take a while before fans finally get to see the third Kobe statue, but they’ll be hoping that the wait is worth it.
