Christian Wood of the Los Angeles Lakers has something to say regarding his upcoming performance in the next season. He sends a serious message to everyone, compelling them to expect a better or the best performance from him after years of being ignored.

In a recent story on his Instagram account, the Lakers center revealed his announcement. The Twitter/X insider account NBACentral encountered this story, ensuring everyone knew about Wood’s response to the ongoing strikes against his team.

“I’m back yall ..and I’m coming back next season with a vengeance.” – Christian Wood’s recent story on his Instagram account.

Wood appeared from silence after recent criticisms by the fans regarding his team’s incapability to acquire key veterans who would supposedly aid them for the upcoming season in October.

The Lakers, who horribly lost against the Denver Nuggets in the last playoffs, had expressed their interest in finding good players that would fill up for their stars, LeBron James and Anthony Davis.

Unfortunately, the California-based team brought almost no one to their team this offseason. This has made many people think the team is unwilling to strengthen its roster for the upcoming games.

Christian Wood’s promising message isn’t guaranteed, either. Only some people expect him to replace James and Davis as one of the Lakers’ stars. After all, his efforts in the last season were in vain.

In 50 games with the Lakers during the 2023-24 season, the UNLV Runnin’ Rebels alumnus averaged 6.9 points, 1.0 assists, and 5.1 rebounds. In October, he would attempt to fulfill his stern warning in the same team.

Wood signed a two-year contract and $4.6 million with the Lakers on September 6, 2023. That year, he won the NBA Cup. After his team’s match against the Utah Jazz in February, he was inactive for the rest of the regular season.

The Los Angeles Lakers are under heavy struggles for the upcoming season.

The Lakers almost did nothing throughout the offseason. They’d fired Darvin Ham and replaced them with JJ Redick. Then, at the NBA Draft, the team acquired Bronny James, LeBron’s son., and Dalton Knecht.

Everyone doubts the capabilities of the changes made inside the Lakers. James’ son is perceived by many as incapable of supporting the team. Others wonder if Redick could really manage the roster and bring them up from seventh place last season.

Whether the Lakers will rise as a competitive team that will challenge the dominating Western Conference teams remains up in the air. It will be up to the upcoming games to determine whether they are indeed capable.
