Los Angeles Lakers fans who grew up around the iconic Crypto.com Arena didn’t think twice about who they would be supporting in the epic Kendrick Lamar-Drake beef that took the whole world’s attention a few months ago.
The City of Angels was treated to an epic show in the aftermath of the beef, where Lakers forward LeBron James was treated to an exhibition of the best West Coast rap can offer. With his presence at the show, many assumed King James decided to side with the Not Like Us rapper in the beef.
However, it seems like James is following a trend where NBA players maintain their cordial relationship with the Toronto-based hitmaker with a recent move he made.
LeBron James wants to mend his relationship with Drake after supporting Kendrick Lamar’s show
In what many would consider LeBron’s attempt at reconnecting with the God’s Plan singer, the current Team USA forward reportedly posted on social media to support Drake’s ventures.
In a post to his Instagram Story on Monday (August 5), LeBron shared a photo rocking Drizzy’s Nike Air Force Ones collab that have ‘Love you forever’ etched on them. He also added an infinity symbol emoji to the post.
It may be an attempt for the 39-year-old forward to show that he still cares about the rapper even if he was seen mouthing Not Like Us word for word during Lamar’s Juneteenth concert. Whether the Canadian would accept his apology or continue shooting subliminal social media disses is another thing, though.
Los Angeles Lakers hope James will shine for the team as he does in Team USA
King James is one of the oldest players in the Team USA roster, but he’s undeniably one of its most important players. The Akron, OH native is averaging 13.8 PPG, 5.8 RPG, and 7.8 APG in Paris while shooting 67.6% on the floor.
While the Games is cutting on his recovery time, Lakers fans hope that it wouldn’t affect the future Hall of Famer once the season kicks into full swing.
