Marcus Morris Sr. believes the Los Angeles Lakers got better when they traded Anthony Davis and Max Christie for Luka Doncic, as he believes it has opened up more space for LeBron James.

Doncic gives the Los Angeles Lakers another star playmaker. In his first 16 starts wearing Purple and Gold, the Slovenian international averages 26.5 points, 8.8 rebounds, 8.0 assists, and 1.9 steals in 34.4 minutes per contest.
“I felt Anthony Davis was in LeBron’s way,” Morris explained on The Kevin O’Connor Show. “LeBron is really a four now and that’s the position Anthony Davis wanted to play. He’s always on the box, he wasn’t stretching it that well. Now you add a top-five player in the NBA where he’s a matchup nightmare. When 77 walks in the building, OKC, Minnesota, Phoenix, Clippers — they dread seeing him. Now he has 23 on his back. What does that equal? 100.”

Before Doncic arrived, James and Davis enjoyed success with the Los Angeles Lakers, including winning the 2020 NBA championship and the 2023 NBA Cup. However, Davis eventually reportedly wasn’t happy in his final days in LA.
