LeBron James is one of best basketball players ever to grace the NBA hardwood. The fact that he’s still one of the biggest stars on the Los Angeles Lakers when he’s about to hit 40 years old is a monumental achievement that only a very select group of players have done in their lifetime.
While some are begging LeBron to take a step back when it comes to his role with the Purple and Gold, he’s still impactful enough that teams still have to guard him as well as they did when he was still in his early 30s.

It could be hard to imagine LeBron playing anything other than basketball, but LeBron has the rare athleticism that would allow him to thrive in whatever sport he chooses to participate in.
It’s common knowledge that James was as talented a football player as he was in basketball, but there’s one particular sport he’s interested in that will make fans curious about how he would perform in a different sport.
LeBron James would love to participate in track & field if he’s not playing for the Los Angeles Lakers and the NBA

While James is busy preparing for the 2024 Olympics with Team USA, he fielded questions about his career and the Games. When asked about what sport he would like to compete in if he weren’t a future Hal of Famer, he had a ready answer.
Per The Spun’s Chris Rosvoglou:
“I would — man, the four-by-one relay, man — track and field,” James said. “Yeah, I want to be anchor, for sure, I want to finish it off the right way.”
It might seem weird to some, but it makes sense for James to thrive in track if you look at his history. LeBron is a multi-sport athlete. He’s lightning-quick during his peak despite being one of the heavier players on the floor. His chase-down blocks were just fascinating to watch, and his dunks were just as awe-inspiring.
Moreover, his stats last season show that he can still ball with players who are two decades younger than him. He had an incredible stat line of 25.7 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 8.3 assists as a 39-year-old.
While he might have a tough time winning against the likes of Noah Lyles, everyone knows that LeBron would have been just as dominant on the oval as he was on the court.
