Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James recently turned heads during a media availability session in practice, as he refused to answer a question on behalf of his son Bronny.

According to the 39-year-old, reporters don’t have to ask him about Bronny James’ adjustment to the NBA since he is already a “grown man” and can speak for himself.
“You got to ask him,” LeBron James said about his eldest son via ESPN’s Dave McMenamin. “He’s a grown man, ask him how he’s handling it, and we’ll go from there. He’s a grown man, he’s a professional, he can handle it.”

LeBron and Bronny James recently made history by becoming the first father-son tandem to share an NBA court during the Los Angeles Lakers’ 118-114 preseason defeat against the Phoenix Suns.
Everyone is still adjusting to this, and LeBron James is setting boundaries for the media ahead of the 2024-25 campaign. The four-time NBA champion doesn’t want reporters asking him about his son all season, as he wants them to focus on how the Los Angeles Lakers are playing.
JJ Redick reveals Bronny James’ potential role with Los Angeles Lakers
Bronny James struggles with the Los Angeles Lakers remain evident this preseason, averaging only 0.7 points, one rebound, and 0.3 assists in 11.9 minutes per game in three matches.

Despite this, head coach JJ Redick praised the 55th overall pick of this summer’s NBA Draft for his defensive potential.
“JJ has really emphasized the defensive end and being a pest on defense,” Bronny said via Corey Hansford of Lakers Nation. “So that’s what I’ve just been trying to focus on when I step on the floor.”
“Again, JJ has told me to be as disruptive as possible, forcing me to disrupt the ball and pick up 94 feet, disrupt the ball screens, and stuff like that. So yeah, I’m just trying to focus on what I could do best in my role, and it’s been pretty good,” he added.
