The injury-riddled Los Angeles Lakers are suddenly on a slump. After seeing their eight-game win streak end last Saturday in Beantown with a loss to the Boston Celtics, Luka Doncic and company remained winless in their current road trip, as they absorbed a 111-108 loss at the hands of the Brooklyn Nets at Barclays Center on Monday night.
Lakers head coach JJ Redick was critical of his team following the game, saying that his players took “shortcuts” during the contest, per Dave McMenamin of ESPN.
JJ Redick was visibly upset during his postgame comments, calling out his teams for the “shortcuts” they took in their execution
McMenamin also got Doncic’s reaction to that blunt comment from Redick, with the five-time NBA All-Star admitting his shortcomings.
Luka Doncic when asked about JJ Redick calling out the Lakers’ lack of communication on offense tonight, said: “That’s my fault”

Los Angeles Lakers star Luka Doncic shot poorly against the Nets

The 26-year-old Slovenian had a triple-double of 22 points, 12 rebounds and 12 assists but he was an atrocious 8-for-28 from the floor and also committed five of the Lakers’ 15 player turnovers.
Also struggling with his shot in the contest was Austin Reaves, who went 3-for-14 while going 10-for-11 from the free-throw line for 17 points. If not for a surprise performance from spot starter Gabe Vincent, the final score would have likely looked much worse for the Lakers. Vincent led the Lakers, who were missing LeBron James, Rui Hachimura and Jaxson Hayes among others, with 24 points on 8-for-12 shooting.
