Game 2 of the Los Angeles Lakers series against the Minnesota Timberwolves featured a viral moment between Luka Doncic and Rudy Gobert. Doncic was off to a great start in the second game of the best-of-seven series, making the defense pay with his elite scoring. It didn’t matter who was in front of the Slovenian star as he toyed with the defenders.

Doncic and the Lakers are coming off a 117-95 Game 1 loss against the Timberwolves on Saturday. The 6-foot-6 guard had 37 points and eight rebounds against Minnesota. However, that wasn’t enough for L.A. to beat the Anthony Edwards-led team.

During the second quarter of Game 2, there was an instance when Gobert got switched defensively on Doncic. The three-time Defensive Player of the Year did his best against the creative offensive star. However, he was treated like a toy as the five-time All-Star had a couple of ball fakes that led to a made fadeaway shot from mid-range.

After scoring over the Frenchman, fans went crazy on social media. Here are some of what the fans said about Doncic’s wizardry against the 7-foot-1 center.

“I know Luka be smiling whenever Rudy Gobert has to guard him,” a fan said.

“Luka is just playing around at this point,” another fan commented.

“COOKED SOME FRENCH TOAST,” one fan posted.

“Nico Harrison should have a mural outside staples,” a fan said.

“So smoothly done. Big guys do good job in the game”

“He always has Rudy looking idiotic as hell 😂”

    “Luka is unstoppable today”

Doncic made history after the first half. The five-time All-NBA player finished the first two quarters with 22 points. He joined Anthony Davis and the late Kobe Bryant as the only players in the organization to have 20-5-5 in the first half.

The Los Angeles Lakers star tried to do his best Stephen Curry impression against the Wolves

Doncic was mic’d up, and fans got to hear him interact and talk during the game. In the first quarter, the Los Angeles Lakers had an incredible ball movement that led the star guard to hit a wide-open shot from beyond the arc. After the made shot, the 2019 Rookie of the Year looked at the bench and admitted that he tried his best Stephen Curry impression.

“After the shot, I looked at the bench,” Doncic said on the bench. “I knew it was going in. I did my best Steph impression.”

The Los Angeles Lakers are hoping to secure a win over the Wolves and tie the series before traveling to Minnesota for Game 3.
