After learning of his trade back to the Los Angeles Lakers, where he won his lone championship in the Disney Bubble in 2020, Morris admitted he was taken aback positively.
“When it first happened, I was in shock because, obviously, you know, I haven’t played in a couple of years. My first thing was ‘Who the hell wants me? Who wants to trade for me?'” Morris said on the TWIN$nWIN$ podcast.

Before joining the Los Angeles Lakers, Morris has only played seven regular season games for the Dallas Mavericks, averaging 1.7 points and 1.1 rebounds in 5.9 minutes. He has not averaged more than 10 minutes a game since the 2022-23 season.
Los Angeles Lakers winning streak has come to an end
The Los Angeles Lakers were on a six-game winning streak, even before Luka Doncic arrived. However, the Utah Jazz ended their unbeaten run yesterday 131-119.

Rui Hachimura led LA in scoring with 19 points, and LeBron James, Luka Doncic, and Austin Reaves added 18, 16, and 15 points in the losing effort.
As for Markieff Morris, he put up five points and one assist in nearly eight minutes of action. The former Kansas Jayhawk is on an expiring contract this campaign.
