The Los Angeles Lakers finally pulled off their first win in the Summer League on Wednesday night after taking down the Atlanta Hawks, 87-86. It is also no big coincidence that the victory came amid arguably the best performance we’ve seen from Bronny James in a Lakers uniform.
The 19-year-old finished with 12 points on 5-of-11 shooting, to go along with two triples, a rebound, a steal, and just one turnover in 24 minutes of play as he helped lift LA over Atlanta.
Los Angeles Lakers News: Bronny James’ Support System

After the game, Bronny was asked about the mindset he took amid his rather tumultuous start in the Summer League. According to LA’s second-round pick, the encouragement from his parents played a pivotal role in keeping him locked in.
“Just having the support system behind you,” he said. “My mom, my dad really helped me, encouraging me to stay focused, and keep being myself so I feel like a big part of keeping my mind right.”

LeBron James also sent a clear message to his son about not letting all the negativity affect him. According to Bronny, his dad provided some sound advice amid his struggles.
“Stay aggressive. Even though my shot hasn’t been falling, just to stay aggressive,” Bronny said.
“[He’s telling me] stay aggressive. Even though my shot hasn't been falling, just to stay aggressive.”

You have to note that LeBron is hundreds of miles away as he prepares to lead Team USA to a gold medal quest in the Olympics. Just imagine the support he’ll be able to provide for his son once they’re together on the team.
