Los Angeles Lakers news: According to reports, DeMar DeRozan is expected to sign an extension with the Chicago Bulls this summer. The six-time All-Star will be entering NBA free agency in the coming months, but the general expectation is that he will be able to strike a deal with his current team to remain in Chicago for the foreseeable future.
Nothing is guaranteed, though, and DeRozan himself has hinted at a possible move away from the Bulls. The 34-year-old admitted that it would be hard to pass up an opportunity to play for the Los Angeles Lakers.
Los Angeles Lakers News: DeMar DeRozan Open to LA Homecoming
DeRozan was born and raised in Compton, California, which is why he has deep-rooted ties with Los Angeles. This is exactly why the three-time All-NBA swingman remains open to the possibility of coming home to play for the Lakers.
DeRozan dropped his truth bomb on a recent appearance on FanDuel’s Run It Back program:
“You can’t never say no about playing home,” he said. “…Time will tell, we’ll see where the cards fall.”
Would @DeMar_DeRozan ever consider playing for the #Lakers?

This is pretty much DeMar’s come-get-me plea to the Lakers, who for their part, will need to make some major salary cap adjustments to make room for a potential swoop on DeRozan.
Second Time’s the Charm?
You have to note that this is not the first time DeRozan has been linked to a move to Hollywood. In fact, the Bulls star himself admits that he thought that his move to the Lakers back in the summer of 2021 “was a done deal.” Instead, LA opted to trade for Russell Westbrook:
Could the second time finally be the charm for DeRozan?
