It has been quite some time now after the Los Angeles Lakers were eliminated from the playoffs by Nikola Jokic’s Denver Nuggets. Now, superstar LeBron James has to decide soon whether he wants to stay in LA or find a new team to play for.
In recent years, LeBron James made a declaration that he intends to play alongside his son, Bronny, in his final year in the NBA. This statement has garnered significant public attention towards the younger James as he pursued his basketball career at the high school level.

However, before Bronny could even make his collegiate debut, he faced a cardiac arrest due to a congenital heart disease. Fortunately, he made a successful recovery just in time to join the USC Trojans for the 2023-24 NCAA season. Despite his return, his playing time was limited, and his performance fell short of expectations. He averaged 4.8 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game during that period.
Prior to his recent workout, Bronny reportedly turned down workout offers from multiple teams, with the exception of the Phoenix Suns and the Los Angeles Lakers. The Phoenix Suns hold the 22nd overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, while the Los Angeles Lakers have the 17th and 55th picks.
NBA Insider Says LeBron James Has Less Than A Month To Decide About His Current Contract With the Los Angeles Lakers

At this point in time, it’s not yet known where both LeBron and Bronny will end up for next season. But according to ESPN’s Bobby Marks, in a video shared by Front Office Sports Today, the elder James will have to decide about his contract soon.
LeBron James has until June 29 to opt-in to his contract for next season—but his decision may depend on where Bronny is drafted.
If Bronny is available at pick no. 55, ESPN’s @BobbyMarks42 says he would be “stunned” if the Lakers don’t take him.

The 2024 NBA Draft is scheduled on June 26 and 27. The first round will occur in the first day while round two is scheduled for the following night. Once Bronny is selected in one of those dates, LeBron will have to make a decision right away.

The saga of both LeBron James and Bronny will soon take another turn as their respective careers may possibly meet in the NBA. For sure, next season will be an interesting one for fans of the King and his son in the league.
