Before he got hired by the Los Angeles Lakers to be the franchise’s head coach, JJ Redick spent most of his time as a media person. He even had a hit podcast with Lakers superstar forward LeBron James. But Redick will have to move on from all of that at least for as long as he is the head coach of the Lakers.
Via Jovan Buha of The Athletic:
JJ Redick said he will not continue podcasting as Lakers head coach. He’s “excommunicated from the content space” and “done with podcasting” for what he hopes is a very long time.
Coaching in the NBA for any team requires one’s full attention but it is especially intense when it’s the Lakers, easily the most popular and most scrutinized franchises in the NBA. It just makes sense that Redick sets aside his other passion for his new gig.

“good, he has got a lot of work to do ahead !!”
“guess the podcasting is on a two year break”
“”Excommunicated from the content space” is so awesome lmao”
“The best nba podcast we have is gone and the lakers are gonna fire him after like 2 seasons or less💔”
“JJ, you were one of my favorite podcasters to ever cover/watch/be a fan of. I’ve never seen anyone come into the content space and leave a large, positive impression on media as quickly as you did. I am truly grateful for everything you gave on and off the pod. Thank you forever”
