The Los Angeles Lakers got back on track on Saturday. Following a painful 119-117 loss at the hands of Josh Giddey and the Chicago Bulls last Thursday, LeBron James and the Lakers defeated the Memphis Grizzlies on the road via a score of 134-127.
The four-time NBA Most Valuable Player showed some fire against the Grizzlies, with Austin Reaves taking notice of it.
James apparently did not shy away from sending a strong message to his team during a break in the contest.
“It was the first time I’ve heard him yell in a while,” Reaves said of James’ timeout address. “It was refreshing, to be honest. I loved it.”

Los Angeles Lakers led by their incredible trio in win vs. Grizzlies

The trio of James, Reaves and Luka Doncic took turns in pummeling the Grizzlies, who played their first game since the surprising firing of ex-head coach Taylor Jenkins.
Reaves led the Lakers with 31 points on 8-for-16 shooting from the floor while Doncic had 29 points on 8-for-18 shooting. James added 25 points on 10-for-21 shooting. But Los Angeles also got ample support from the backups. Gabe Vincent and Jordan Goodwill scored 15 and 11 points, respectively, off the bench.
With the win over the Grizzlies, the Lakers improved their record to 45-29, good for fourth in the NBA Western Conference standings. It was also a big win for Los Angeles because the Grizzlies are among the Lakers’ chief rivals for a higher seed in the west.
The Lakers will look to keep it going this coming Monday when they host the Houston Rockets followed by a matchup against the Golden State Warriors on Thursday.
