The Los Angeles Lakers’ game against the Memphis Grizzlies came at the right time for the Purple and Gold.
The Grizzlies are scrambling to get their act together after Taylor Jenkins’s controversial firing. The on-court scuffle captured during their game against the Jazz adds credence to the belief that the Grizzlies should be easier to take down.

On the other hand, LA has LeBron James, Luka Doncic, and Austin Reaves playing extended minutes together again. With only a couple of games remaining in the season, it makes sense that they’re looking to make the most of the game to build chemistry for the postseason.
The Lakers had a strong performance against the hapless Grizzlies, and JJ Redick is more than happy to see his team perform to their expected standards.
JJ Redick lauds the Los Angeles Lakers for their effort against the Memphis Grizzlies

Redick was glad that they were able to take down a strong team in the Grizzlies. However, he was more delighted with how they played after a heartbreaking loss against the Chicago Bulls.
Per Sports Illustrated’s Logan Struck:
“I think the biggest thing about our group is the response to the other night, when we lose on a half-court buzzer-beater,” Redick said. “I said the other day that we’ll be ready to play… I’m not surprised at how hard we played tonight.”
Austin Reaves continued his phenomenal shooting from the Bulls game, finishing the Purple and Gold’s 134-127 win with 31 points on 50% shooting, seven boards, eight assists, two steals, and a block.
Their two oversized playmakers also made their impact felt on the floor. Doncic enjoyed a solid game with a 29-point, eight-rebound, and nine-assist stat line. Meanwhile, King James had a consistent 25 points, six boards, and eight dimes.
On the other hand, every single Grizzlies starter scored in double digits, with Desmond Bane’s 29 points leading the way. However, their slightly worse shooting became their undoing.
What’s next for the Lakers?

The Lakers have a tough schedule to end the season.
They will face a strong Houston Rockets team and a resurging Golden State squad in the next week. They will have consecutive games against the Thunder in April before Luka Doncic’s return to the American Airlines Center to take on the Dallas Mavericks.
