Now that the free agent market has pretty much dried up, it would be safe to say that the Los Angeles Lakers have been quite unsuccessful in their quest to find a new player that could potentially make a significant impact on their team for the upcoming season.
Be that as it may, the Lakers have not given hope just yet. After all, there is still the trade market.
Los Angeles Lakers Linked to Cameron Johnson

One name that is now being linked as a potential trade target for LA is Brooklyn Nets forward Cameron Johnson. According to NBA insider Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints, the Lakers are one of six teams that are reportedly interested in acquiring the services of the No. 11 pick of the 2019 NBA Draft.
“In addition to the Kings inquiring about Johnson, the Rockets, Lakers, Cleveland Cavaliers, and San Antonio Spurs have been linked to the former first-round pick, sources said. Michael Scotto of HoopsHype has also reported that the Toronto Raptors have shown interest in Johnson,” Siegel wrote.

The report did not indicate what the Lakers would need to give up in order to lure Johnson to Hollywood. However, based on the mere fact that there are at least five other teams in the market for the 6-foot-8 power forward, it is very likely that the Nets will require a significant package for Johnson, who is still under contract through 2027.
Whether or not LA will be willing to meet this lofty price remains to be seen.
