Apart from hiring a new head coach, the Los Angeles Lakers are also expected to make some significant changes to their roster this summer. This could include some sort of trade/s to help build a better supporting cast for LeBron James and Anthony Davis.
One team that apparently does not want to play ball with LA is the Chicago Bulls, and they reportedly have a compelling reason as to why they feel this way toward LeBron and the Lakers.
Los Angeles Lakers News: No Deal With Chicago Bulls Forthcoming
According to league insider Eric Pincus of Bleacher Report, the Bulls brass have no intention of doing any type of business with the Lakers. Apparently, their motivation behind this stance stems from their loyalty to the GOAT, Michael Jordan:
“Their owner doesn’t want LeBron infringing upon Michael’s legacy… the intel is that they’re just not gonna help LeBron,” Pincus said (h/t Legion Hoops on X, formerly Twitter).
If this is true, then the fact of the matter is that the Bulls appear to be seriously threatened by LeBron’s challenge for MJ’s throne. After all, the NBA’s all-time leading scorer has beaten Jordan in every other statistical category, save for the Hall of Famer’s six career championships.
James has four titles under his belt, and while he’s still quite a ways away from MJ’s six rings, everything LeBron achieves from here on out will be weighed against Jordan’s accomplishments.
It appears that the Bulls are having none of that, and it seems that they will do everything in their power to preserve the legacy of the great Michael Jordan.
