Despite being able to establish himself as one of the most prominent members of the Los Angeles Lakers roster, Austin Reaves has still seen his name dragged into all sorts of trade rumors this summer.
Ultimately, this might have been brought about by a sense of desperation due to the lack of summer activity for the Lakers. As for the team itself, however, they do not seem to have any intention of parting ways with the 6-foot-5 shooting guard.
Los Angeles Lakers News: Austin Reaves Is Off Limits
It’s no secret that the Lakers have been working hard to get some sort of blockbuster deal done this summer. One of their biggest names that have been linked to LA is Jerami Grant, who remains an elusive target for them.
According to NBA insider Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints, the Lakers will need to dig deep into their pockets to strike a deal with the Portland Trail Blazers. Whatever trade package that might turn out to be, however, will NOT include Reaves.
“Austin Reaves has been kept out of all trade discussions Los Angeles has held since before the trade deadline, sources said, leaving Rui Hachimura and Gabe Vincent as the only other players the Lakers could consider trading in order to meet Grant’s $29.7 million salary,” Siegel wrote.
The report also indicates that D’Angelo Russell could be the centerpiece of a potential trade package for Grant but at the same time, it does not seem like the Blazers have any interest in the former All-Star point guard.
Whatever the case might be, what has been established is that Reaves isn’t going anywhere — not to Portland or any other NBA team out there.
