Amid a busy NFL offseason, NBA legend Magic Johnson recently spent some time with Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels. The rookie had a fantastic campaign for the Commanders, taking the team to their first NFC Championship game since 1992.
Johnson shared in an Instagram post a picture of him with Daniels and the quarterback’s mother Regina Jackson from a team event. The five-time NBA champion and minority owner of the Commanders praised Daniels for his leadership qualities, as well as his mother.
“I enjoyed sitting down with our star Quarterback Jayden Daniels and his mom Regina Jackson today talking about this upcoming season and life after football,” Johnson wrote. “Commander fans, we have a true leader. It was great to get to know Jayden off the field and listen to his mom’s vision for his brand!”

Magic Johnson became a minority of the Washington Commanders in 2023, joining forces with a group led by Philadelphia 76ers owner Josh Harris. They took over from Dan Snyder and changed the culture of the organization.
The Commanders selected Jayden Daniels as their No. 2 pick in last year’s draft. Caleb Williams initially had all the attention, but Daniels turned out to be the better player with him leading the Commanders to a 12-5 record and a postseason berth via the Wild Card.

Daniels had a spectacular game in the playoffs, helping Washington defeat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the Wild Card Round, then defeated the Super Bowl contenders Detroit Lions in the NFC Divisional Round in a shocking upset.
While the Commanders lost to the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC Championship game, it can’t be denied that they had a great run. Now they look forward to another great season with a supportive ownership and a promising young player backing them up.
Magic Johnson is looking for his first Super Bowl title
Magic Johnson had a great basketball career and a winning mentality, securing five NBA championships and an Olympic gold medal. He is also a winner outside basketball, becoming a billionaire last year through his many successful business ventures.

Johnson holds shares in prominent teams across many sports: the LA Dodgers (MLB), the LA Sparks (WNBA), the LAFC (MLS), and the Washington Commanders (NFL).
Magic already has two World Series rings with the Dodgers, a WNBA championship with the Sparks, and one MLS Cup with LAFC. The only thing missing in his trophy room is a Super Bowl championship.
