The Orlando Magic refused to lose to the Los Angeles Lakers in Tinseltown. On the brink of suffering a defeat at the hands of LeBron and company, the Magic turned to forward Franz Wagner and he delivered the goods for his team in the clutch, as the former Michigan Wolverines star knocked down a go-ahead 3-pointer with 2.5 seconds left in regulation.
That proved to be the game-winning basket for Orlando, which came away with a hard-earned 119-118 victory at crypto.com Arena.
Magic’s Franz Wagner stays hot

But that was also hardly the only good thing that Wagner did in the game. Wagner finished the contest with 37 points on 13-for-26 shooting from the field to go with 11 assists, six rebounds, and four steals in 39 minutes. The 23-year-old Wagner also became the youngest player since 2007 LeBron James to post a 35-10 performance in a single game.
Via StatMamba:
Franz Wagner is the youngest forward to record a 35 PTS & 10 AST game since LeBron (2007).
Wagner is on a heater. He was already looking dangerous even before he went off against the Lakers. Over his last six games, including the meeting with Los Angeles, Wagner has averaged 29.2 points on 47.4 percent shooting from the field.

With Paolo Banchero sidelined with an injury, Wagner has seemingly stepped up big time for the Magic, who have won seven of their last 10 outings and are currently fourth in the Eastern Conference with a 10-7 record.
