Malik Beasley’s record for most three-pointers made this season has been broken by Anthony Edwards after the Minnesota Timberwolves won against the Utah Jazz in their final game of the season.
Before Sunday’s showdown between the Jazz and Timberwolves, Detroit Pistons guard Beasley led the league in most three-point shots made this season with a total of 319, just seven made threes away from Edwards.
The Ant-man knew he had to do everything against the Jazz to beat Malik’s record. In a viral video online, Edwards was caught on camera, pleading with his coach to sub him back in the game as he’s already made five three-pointers in the match.
When Beasley saw the trending video on X, formerly Twitter, all he can say was, “Damn you can have it 😂,” after re-posting Edwards’ viral clip.

Prior to Sunday’s match between the Minnesota Timberwolves and Utah Jazz, Malik Beasley issued the challenge to Anthony Edwards on X, formerly Twitter, as he’s tweeted the number of three-pointers that the Ant-Man needs to overtake him.
“Ant you gotta get seven 3s to beat me tonight,” said Beasley. And true enough, the 22-year-old swingman responded with exactly seven three-pointers made against the Jazz, making him this season’s king of the rainbow territory with 320 while Beasley finished with 319.
Thanks to the Beasley-Edwards three-point showdown, this year has been the first season in NBA history where three players made over 300 three-pointers, with Steph Curry joining the hit parade with 310.
Beasley’s challenge wasn’t an empty one, though, as he’s been averaging 16.3 points while making 3.9 threes per game on 41.6% shooting. Establishing his name as one of the best shooters in the league, Beasley made a fun and challenging battle with his former teammate with the Timberwolves.
Edwards, on the other hand, improved from 32.9% shooting from long-range last year, to 39.5% this year, all while making 4.1 three-pointers made this season. It was also coming as a big surprise from the Ant-Man as shooting has been his biggest weakness heading into the draft in his rookie season.
Heading into the playoffs, both the Beasley’s Detroit Pistons and Edwards’ Minnesota Timberwolves finished 6th in their respective conferences and will be up against heavy challengers in New York Knicks and Los Angeles Lakers, respectively.
