Marina Mabrey was certainly over the moon after the Phantom basketball club defeated the Vinyl team with an astounding win on Saturday night. Before the win, the Phantom team was suffering a four-game losing streak, and being successful against Vinyl certainly seems promising for the team, which is placed last in the table.
In the current standings, the Lunar Owls led by Napheesa Collier are reigning with a whopping 13 wins and a single defeat, while the Rose team is second with eight wins and six losses in the inaugural season of the unique 3-on-3 tournament.
“Guys I didn’t see this 🥺❤️.” Marina Mabrey captioned her Instagram post showing a picture of her hugging her teammate, Satou Sabally on the court after the win.
In the winning game against the Vinyl basketball club on Saturday, the Phantom basketball club were led by Marina Mabrey who chalked up an impressive 26 points, grabbing four rebounds and assisting four times. Brittney Griner added another 18 points for the team, with four boards and a pair of helpers. Mabrey was crowned game-winner with her three-point shot.

For the inaugural season of the Unrivaled League, Marina Mabrey is playing in the Phantom basketball club with Satou Sabally, Katie Lou Samuelson, Natasha Cloud, Brittney Griner and Sabrina Ionescu. The team is coached by Adam Harrington, who was previously an assistant coach with the NBA’s Brooklyn Nets.
Marina Mabrey And Phantom BC Won Their Final Game In Inaugural Unrivaled Season
Meanwhile, despite putting up an impressive win against the Vinyl basketball club, the Phantom team will not be playing any more games in the inaugural season of the Unrivaled League. The Phantom BC did not make it to the playoffs, and will not be seen in action this season any more.

During the next weekend, the semi-finals of the Unrivaled League will take place with the Laces team taking on the Rose basketball club, and the Vinyl basketball club meeting the Lunar Owls basketball club. The winners will eventually meet for the finals of the 3-on-3 tournament the following Monday for the finals.

The Unrivaled League was co-founded by Napheesa Collier and Breanna Stewart, with the main aim of providing female basketball players a chance to play games during the WNBA offseason. The league, apart from offering equity, also offers players a pretty high pay-grade, much higher than what the WNBA is currently offering, making it a one-of-a-kind tournament in the world of women’s sports today.
