Mark Cuban is in on the jokes as the U.S. presidential race heats up, with Kamala Harris taking over the Democratic nomination to go against the Republicans’ presidential frontrunner, Donald Trump.
Kamala Harris and her supporters have launched a smear attack against the Republicans, calling their campaign “weird.”
“It’s weird how they all got the same talking points on a memo at the same time. Who issued that memo and can get them all to obey?” X user @WallStreetSilv posted on the platform.
“I did,” the Dallas Mavericks owner jokingly responded.
Supporters of the Democratic Party have doubled down with the “weird” rhetoric, and Trump has responded to the taunts in an interview with Clay Travis.
“They’re the weird ones. If you’ve ever seen her with the laugh and everything else, that’s a weird deal going on there. They’re the weird ones,” said Trump. “Nobody’s ever called me weird. I’m a lot of things, but I’m not weird, I will tell you. J.D. is not at all. They are.”
Mark Cuban in strong support of Kamala Harris, opposing Donald Trump
With Kamala Harris’ presidential campaign gaining momentum against Donald Trump, Mark Cuban has reportedly led venture groups supporting the Democratic nominee. According to Dallas Morning News, the Mavs owner had also joined tech investors in promoting the Harris campaign.
Cuban’s efforts in the campaign have people talking about him as a potential running mate for Harris. Latest reports point to Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro being named as Harris’ vice presidential candidate, but Cuban remains a popular “outsider” pick.
Along with LinkedIn co-founder Reid Hoffman, Cuban is one of over 100 investors supporting Harris’ presidential campaign. Harris made history as the first black woman and Asian-American to lead a major-party ticket, winning the Democratic nomination after gaining enough votes from the Democratic delegates.
An entrepreneur, venture capitalist, businessman, and television personality, Cuban founded the internet audio and video streaming service, Broadcast.com, in 1995, which he sold to Yahoo! For $5.7 billion in stock. He bought a majority stake in the NBA franchise Dallas Mavericks in 2000, and has won one championship as team owner in 2011. He also prominently featured as a “shark” in ABC’s hit reality TV show, “Shark Tank.”
Mark Cuban is a recognizable figure known for his business acumen, outspoken nature, and philanthropic efforts. With him joining the campaign efforts in support of Harris, the leadup to the presidential elections later this year is going to be intense.
