Dallas Mavericks’ new recruit Klay Thompson is having some sort of resurrection after leaving the Golden State Warriors at the start of the season and he has Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving to thank for that. He compared his new court partners to the time he played with Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant.

Reporting mid-game between the Mavs and the Minnesota Timberwolves, Stephanie Ready shared her conversation with Thompson about his new found home and how he feels reinvigorated under a new organization.
Thompson has scored in double digits in all his first three games for Dallas.
Ready said that Thompson had some assurance that he will make a smooth transition with his new team because of the presence of two great shotmakers in Doncic and Irving.

“I’m a basketball player. I have the opportunity to play with greatness. We have a very deep and balanced team so it is easy for me to fit in because I get to play off of two of the greatest shot creators in the league,” Ready said quoting the four-time champion.
Klay Thompson compares teammates to KD, Curry, says he’s still a 2-way player,
Thompson then specifically attributed his fit to the Mavs to his former teammates Curry and Durant with whom he won two championships when asked when was the last time he got a volume of open shots.

He believes the team can achieve great things as he looks back at how KD and Curry are similar to Irving and Doncic tandem.
“Probably when I shared the court with Steph and KD. That’s how potent this offense can be guys because you have two incredible shot takers who also shot creators, dishing Klay the ball in wide open in wide open positions,” Ready said in the report.
As for himself and what he can offer to the table, he believes that he is still a two-way player just like how it was during his time with the 2015-2018 Warriors dynasty.
“Until the day I hang it up, I will take pride in both offense and defense.”
