Luka Doncic’s shocking trade to the Los Angeles Lakers was something that rattled the entire NBA landscape. No one in their right mind imagined Nico Harrison would make such a career-defining move to a superstar player who just brought the Mavs to the Finals the season prior.
While plenty of Mavs rumors have gone around that detailed the logic behind the shocking move, both teams seem to be moving forward with the consequences of the trade.

Luka Doncic is finding his footing while playing alongside LeBron James. On the other hand, Anthony Davis is focusing on recovery after ending his Dallas debut on a sour note.
However, details have surfaced of another trade that would have shaken the league just as much. However, the magnitude of the impact would be felt a lot more differently.
Luka Doncic was offered to the Minnesota Timberwolves for Anthony Edwards in the latest Mavs rumors

The Athletic’s Sean Amick released a shocking story that detailed the Mavericks’ approach to the Wolves weeks before the blockbuster deal happened.
He reported that the Mavs’ controversial general manager gauged Timberwolves GM Tim Connelly’s interest in a potential trade that would send Luka to them for Anthony Edwards.
Yahoo! Sports’ Sean Leahy detailed the Timberwolves’ thoughts on the trade before rejecting the proposal:
“The Timberwolves, league sources say, were stunned that Dallas was contemplating parting ways with Dončić.”
Based on this report, it was clear that Harrison has been looking for a player who better fits his ideas of a perfect basketball team.
Would a Doncic-Edwards swap be viable?

There’s no question that the two players are among the best in the NBA. Doncic is an all-around superstar who can control almost every facet of the offense, while Edwards is an unstoppable scorer who can do whatever he wants regardless of the defensive coverage.
However, Edwards may not be the perfect solution the Mavs desperately needed. While Edwards is in better shape than Doncic, he doesn’t have the type of elite playmaking chops the Slovenian superstar has. Moreover, the fact that the Mavs took down the Wolves in five games of the Western Conference finals last year shows that Doncic wasn’t necessarily the problem.
Moreover, Edwards’ various antics on the court would only provide Jason Kidd with a different kind of headache. Ant-Man doesn’t seem to be the type to just change his ways if his social media activity is to be believed.
