The Memphis Grizzlies lost 134-125 to the Warriors last Tuesday for their fourth consecutive defeat. However, the result was not the biggest story of the day.

The NBA is investigating Ja Morant’s gun gesture toward the Golden State Warriors bench during a timeout with less than 21 seconds left. The league probe will also examine Buddy Hield’s gesture ahead of Morant’s gun trigger motions.
Memphis Grizzlies fans and ESPN analyst Stephen A. Smith have called out the NBA for its double standards. Various stars have used the gun gesture to celebrate, and the league didn’t seem to have a problem with it.

Morant’s past off-court controversies could be the reason the NBA conducted an investigation to begin with. The two-time NBA All-Star missed nearly the entire 2023-24 campaign after being suspended for 25 games for flashing guns on social media on multiple occasions.
Memphis Grizzlies News: Ja Morant drops terse reaction to probe reports
Ja Morant doesn’t seem bothered with the probe reports regarding his gun gesture against the Golden State Warriors, based on his cryptic post on X (formerly known as Twitter).

“ja this .. ja that .. 😂,” Morant posted.
The Memphis Grizzlies cannot afford to lose Morant due to suspension (or injury) as they aim for a higher position in the Western Conference standings.
