Without a doubt, the Miami Heat Big Three of LeBron James, Chris Bosh, and Dwyane Wade was one of the league’s most iconic and dominant trios to ever step on the court. The latter, meanwhile, got real and revealed how they were formed in the first place.
The Big Three, comprising James, Wade, and Bosh, formed a superstar trio that led the Miami Heat to great success in the NBA from 2010 to 2014. After James and Bosh joined Wade in Miami, the team reached the NBA Finals in each of their four seasons together, winning back-to-back championships in 2012 and 2013.

The trio’s regular season and playoff statistics were impressive, with James, Wade, and Bosh all putting up strong numbers in points, rebounds, assists, and other key categories. In the 2010-11 season, their first together, the Heat had a 58-24 record and reached the NBA Finals before losing to the Dirk Nowitzki’s Dallas Mavericks.
Over the next three seasons, the Big Three led the Heat to continued success, including a 66-16 record in 2012-13 and two more NBA titles. However, after losing in the Finals to the San Antonio Spurs in 2014, James opted to leave the team and return to the Cleveland Cavaliers.
The legacy of the Big Three in Miami is one of dominant, championship-caliber basketball. Their four-year run together cemented their status as one of the most formidable trios in NBA history.
Dwyane Wade Reveals Shocking Admission About How Miami Heat Big 3 Was Formed

Just recently, Wade appeared in an episode of 7PM in Brooklyn with former forward Carmelo Anthony and Kid Mero. In it, the three-time NBA champion revealed how the Heat’s Big 3 was formed.
“My personality, first of all, just how I am in life, it helps, know what I mean? You got to know who you are and so I knew that my personality, even though I have an alpha personality, also understand how to look at perspective and look on the other side and move to the side. I got that ability to be able to sometimes take a break and look around, and see some people who are so great, they just looking this way and I got the ability to be able to stop and make a different decision.
So yeah. Was it tough as hell? Yeah, it was tough but also too, I think I was the perfect person to play that role. There ain’t a lot of people that could play that role, that can give, I mean, LeBron [James] is an amazing player, but you got to work around him, to work with him and so as you’ve seen, the first years we were together, we did everything together.
We did every interview together, every press conference, every time you seen him, you seen me because we had to be so lockstep because we knew, I knew everybody was, nobody wanted it. My team didn’t want it, my family didn’t want it. They were pissed, bro. Team, LeBron team didn’t want it. No one wanted that to happen. The game of basketball didn’t want to happen. So I made sure I linked myself with LeBron even more because I knew we had to be so tight or it was going to be a failure and I didn’t want to be a part of that.”
As it stands, the bond between James and Wade formed the basis of their partnership with Bosh in Miami. With the amount of hate the former received, it only made sense for the pair to go together and made things work back then.

More than a decade later since they first joined forces together, the impact of the Heat’s Big 3 can be clearly seen. Without a doubt, things in the league will be a lot different if they didn’t band together back then.
