Michael Jordan may have been out of the game for a long time now, but his pearls of wisdom are priceless as ever. Quite recently, Shaquille O’Neal seconded one of Jordan’s counsels in not relying too much on three-pointers in his game. Shaq came out to say this in light of recent discussions that recent NBA-ratings have dipped, mainly as a result of players focusing too much on three-point shots.
Shaq reposted a post from Stacey King, who put up a video where Michael Jordan can be seen speaking on the matter in a press conference. King himself, goes down as one of the greats in the NBA having won three championships with the Chicago Bulls, as Michael Jordan’s teammate.
“Shooting is something I don’t want to excel at. Because it takes away from all phases of my game. My game is fake, drive to the hole, penetrate, dish off, dunk, whatever. When you have that mentality as I found out in the first game of making 3s, you don’t go to the hole as much. You go to the 3-point line sitting there, waiting for someone to find you. That’s not my mentality and I don’t want to create that because it takes away from other parts of my game.” Michael Jordan can be seen saying in the video.

The video was from after the game between the Chicago Bulls and the Portland Trail Blazers from the 1992 NBA Finals. Michael Jordan himself managed to score six three-pointers in that game during the first half, creating a personal and historical record.
Michael Jordan’s Record Recently Broken By LeBron James
On another note, LeBron James managed to prove once more that he is one of the greatest basketball players as he went on to break Michael Jordan’s record for most 30-point games. The record was broken in the game between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Atlanta Hawks, where LA won the matchup with a final score of 119-102.
In the game against Atlanta, James went on to score thirty points exactly, grabbing three rebounds and assisting eight times, while Austin Reaves put up 20 points, with seven boards and six helpers. The win, along with the defeat against the Houston Rockets in the very next clash, currently places the Lakers fifth in the Western Conference with 20-15.
In his interview after the game, LeBron James went on to say how much he was humbled by the news that he broke the record. James also went on to say that he wears the number 23 as his way of honoring Michael Jordan, who wore the same number jersey.
