Michelle Beadle, sports reporter and San Antonio Spurs broadcast team member, was recently on the hot seat as she blurted out the N-word on a live stream, earning mixed reactions and inducing a wide range of emotions from fans and viewers.
During one of the episodes of her basketball commentary program “Run it Back,” Beadle was talking about the Denver Nuggets when she accidentally mispronounced the word “Nuggets” as the N-word. As it was a live stream, there was no chance to bleep out or completely cut out that part, and the internet has captured the complete scene.
In a recent interview with Brandon “Scoop B” Robinson, Beadle explained how the slip-up happened, and owed it to her talking too fast.
“I sped through a Nuggets question,” she said. “And my vowels got all fucked. Then those two turds lost it. And we laughed through the entire Denver segment. And will probably do so now for the rest of the season.”
Just spoke with @MichelleDBeadle about her misspeak and slippeage of words on Fan Duel’s @RunItBackFDTV, here’s her clarification on what happened:

Michelle Beadle acknowledges that the scene will now become an internet sensation and a meme, and she accepts that she has no control over it.
“I imagine an edited version is going around. Not showing the real-time viewing. And making it seem like an actual n-word and no response. Which I can’t control!”
The Internet Reacts to Michelle Beadle’s N-word Slip-Up
While the sports broadcaster has spoken up and cleared up the incident, social media was left unconvinced, airing a wide range of opinions that do not believe that the “mistake” is a laughing—or like what some people are thinking, might not be a real mistake at all.
Over at X, one user believes that the entire slip-up scene was not an honest mistake but rather, a scripted and intended scenario that is meant to enrage people and therefore get more views, engagement, and clout.
“There was no mistake. Not cute. Not funny. They wanted the attention. Get that b**** off the screen and stop letting people disrespect an entire culture for clicks and views.”
Another user also had a sour taste left in them, as they believe that people finding the incident funny is “embarrassing,” adding that the sports personality “always gave racist undertones.”
“The way they were just up there laughing when Michelle Beadle said n**** on live TV is embarrassing.”
On the other hand, a lot of people also acknowledge that it felt and sounded like a real slip-up Michelle Beadle and was obviously unintended. Some even praised how her co-host and former basketball players Chandler Parsons and Lou Williams laughed it off and brushed it off professionally while on the live stream.
