The Milwaukee Bucks have been a big disappointment in the early goings of the 2024-25 NBA season. Despite having the superstar tandem of Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard, they still couldn’t figure out a way to win games.
They only have one victory to date, and that came at the expense of the banged-up Philadelphia 76ers who didn’t have both Paul George and Joel Embiid on Oct. 23. Since then, the Bucks have lost six games in a row, including to teams like the Chicago Bulls and the Brooklyn Nets.
With frustration growing in Milwaukee, former NBA big man Kendrick Perkins said that Antetokounmpo shouldn’t want a trade because he’s the one responsible for the situation the Bucks are in.
“Giannis is the one who made his bed, he’s the one who got to lay in it,” Perkins said during a recent appearance on ESPN’s “First Take.”

The Bucks have made huge moves in an attempt to boost their chances of winning their second NBA title since 2021. They parted ways with head coach Adrian Griffin last season despite a solid record at that time then replaced him with Doc Rivers.
Before that, the Bucks pulled off a big trade to acquire Lillard. All that being said, the Bucks flamed out of the first round of the 2024 NBA Playoffs, and seemingly can’t find their footing in the current season despite an entire summer of preparation with Rivers at the helm.
Kendrick Perkins’ take on Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo backfires
Perkins’ take also didn’t sit well with a lot of fans, who all came after him online. But there are also others who agree with his take.
“No one said he was looking for a way out. YOU guys are putting these tired rumors out there wtf lol”

“Perk, is 2000 right. Milwaukee has done everything in their power to please him. Gave away probably the greatest defensive PG of all time, and can drop 40 for you if need be. Fired a good coach, kept your scrub brother on the payroll lol, just joking, he can ball.”
