The Milwaukee Bucks turned their 2024-25 NBA season after a 2-8 start to their campaign. During the Emirates NBA Cup, the Bucks took over the competition and went undefeated to win it all. Bobby Portis Jr. and the other players on the roster each won $500k for their victory.
According to the big man, he recently received the prize money. However, he hasn’t touched it yet and is waiting for the perfect moment if he ever comes across something he wants to buy.
Portis appeared on Tuesday’s episode of “Run It Back” where former NBA player Lou Williams asked him how he spent his NBA Cup earnings.
“No. So, what’s crazy is I just got the check on the first, so I still got ’em,” Portis said. “They really didn’t tax much in it. So, I’m kinda thankful and blessed so I’mma just put him up for a little minute, for a hard time.
“I might buy something I want, I might see something down the line I might need or want to dibble and dive in. So, I’m just going to save my dividend.”

Milwaukee Bucks big man talked about his first impression of Victor Wembanyama
San Antonio Spurs big man Victor Wembanyama is one of the most physically tantalizing players in the NBA. Like fans, even professional players get surprised by how Wemby can affect the floor on both ends. For Milwaukee Bucks big man, thought that the Spurs star was “unreal,” given his physical attributes.
“I checked in… I’m just coming in, you know, get right to it. My first defensive possession, [Wembanyama] split a double team and throw it off the glass, and I’m low man. I just let him go,” Portis said. “I said, ‘Ah, nah, this dude crazy.’ The next possession, he blocked somebody’s shot, wrapped the ball behind Dame, and dunked [on] Brook.”
“…Bro is playing a video game out here, this is unreal. I like him a lot, though, man.”
Wemby is showing promise in the second year of his professional career. The big man is averaging 25.6 points, 10.8 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 4.0 blocks (most in the league) on 48% shooting. The Spurs star is one of the leading vote-getters. In the first fan returns, Wemby is fifth in voting among frontcourt players in the Western Conference with 928,501.
