Giannis Antetokounmpo has faced heavy struggles throughout the past seasons with his team, the Milwaukee Bucks. Failing to overcome the trials of the playoffs multiple times, Antetokounmpo becomes the target of franchises seeking his team’s other downfall in the next season, opening a possibility of trade talks involving the Bucks forward.
Since their championship in 2021, the “Greek Freak” and the Bucks never saw a final appearance. Following their franchise’s second title, the Bucks fell in the succeeding playoffs against the Boston Celtics and the Miami Heat and, recently, against the Indiana Pacers.
In the upcoming games starting on October 22, Giannis Antetokounmpo faces immense pressure from his team, expecting him to provide better results or even another championship.
According to rival franchises, this particular assignment by the Bucks drives their star forward into discouragement within his team’s organization that these other teams could use to grasp Antetokounmpo right into their hands.
Sam Amick, an insider from The Athletic, implied that the executives from other franchises are closely watching Giannis Antetokounmpo’s performance with the Bucks, hoping for a bad run in the following season.
“As I shared with Antetokounmpo, rival front office executives are hoping the Bucks fail miserably so that he might consider an NBA life outside of Milwauke. If (Damian) Lillard struggles to be at his best again in a Bucks jersey, trade calls will inevitably come Milwaukee’s way about him,” Amick reported.

Currently, Giannis Antetokounmpo has no escalated tensions with the Bucks. He also has an existing three-year contract extension with his team. However, given the extensive pressures imposed on him, it is unclear if the forward would last until his contract ends in 2027.

Milwaukee Bucks’ Giannis Antetokounmpo is on a heavy mission for the following season to give his team better results. Despite the harsh bounds brought upon him, Antetokounmpo knew he’d face a severe mission that needed to be immediately surmounted by him and his team.
In an interview with Sam Amick, Giannis Antetokounmpo recognized the consequences of the season ahead of him.
“On a serious note, this is the job. It’s the profession that we’re in. At any given moment, if you don’t succeed, that might be it for us. It was the same way with the previous coaching staff, and the year before, the players before. … If you don’t do a good enough job, you’re out,” Antetokounmpo said.

Giannis Antetokounmpo retains the support of his fellow star teammates Damian Lillard, Bobby Portis, and Khris Middleton in the next season. Their run would be intense, as they aim for another good season standing and, eventually, a better playoff experience.
