Damian Lillard is doing his best to help Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks win their second title in five years. While health concerns is keeping him out of the roster, no one could deny how great Dame could be when he’s locked in.
Many Bucks fans are hoping to see the Lillard who lit up the league with his shooting resurface with them in the postseason. The Weber State alum was nearly unstoppable in the 2010s, dazzling opponents with his seemingly limitless range.

While he was an incredible player with an insane clutch gene, his game was inevitably compared to Stephen Curry’s. The Warriors’ golden boy found success with his team and established an unstoppable dynasty. Meanwhile, Lillard struggled to win a playoff series in a cramped Western Conference and not make a single Finals trip during his peak years.
Now that Lillard’s career is nearing its end, Dame Time got honest with his epic rivalry with the future Hall of Famer.
Damian Lillard admitted to using Curry’s success as fuel to help him thrive with the Milwaukee Bucks, Portland Trail Blazers

Lillard openly admitted that he loved competing with Curry, saying that the Baby-faced Assassin’s success pushed him to play better whenever they face each other on the hardwood.
“It was always like—Steph took off, and I was chasing,” Lillard said. “I wanted what he had. He’s winning championships, everybody’s talking about him. So I was very competitive with Steph—especially in those years where I was like, ‘No, I can do that too.'”
While Lillard didn’t have the same team success as Curry, his CV should be more than enough to get him into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame. The 34-year-old guard averaged 25.1 points, 4.3 rebounds, 6.7 assists, and 1.0 steals in the 900 NBA games he’s been a part of.
Both Lillard and Curry are poised to make the postseason. While it’s unlikely they’ll square off in the Finals, it would be a marvelous series to watch for the neutral NBA fan if it does happen.
