The Minnesota Timberwolves are among the most entertaining teams fans can watch in the NBA. They have built a roster that can compete with the best of the Western Conference, and the Dallas Mavericks stopped them from making the NBA Finals.
Despite the disappointing exit, much of the Timberwolves fanbase is excited to see how the team will perform next season. The team is playing well, and some may feel that the team only needs a couple of adjustments before they finally make a Finals appearance.
At the center of everything good for the Timberwolves is Anthony Edwards. The shooting guard has been phenomenal for the Wolves and Team USA makes him one of the most fascinating players in the league today.
As Edwards’ reputation grows among NBA fans, one of his former teammates highlighted one area of his game that fans should pay close attention to.
Taurean Prince thinks Anthony Edwards’ coachability is an important asset for the Minnesota Timberwolves
Taurean Prince may no longer be with the Timberwolves, but he isn’t shy when it comes to praising his former teammate. In a recent interview, the current Milwaukee Bucks forward said that there’s one thing about Ant that fans not following the Timberwolves may not seem to notice.
Per ClutchPoints’ Ryan Bologna:
“Ant’s best talent is he’s coachable,” Taurean Prince said on the Run Your Race podcast. “So once I saw that in him, I’m like, oh he listens? It’s a different ball game when somebody that talented listens you know what I’m saying and don’t think they got it all figured out. In the gym, always, whether it’s shootaround day, last one in the gym, whether it’s practice day, last one in the gym. Been working on the back-to-the-basket stuff, bank shots, he just now pulling it out this season, so it’s like, little things like that it’s just crazy to see from afar knowing what he was doing on the daily.”
Edwards’ yearly improvements are a testament to his coachability as a player. Fans saw him at his best last season after he averaged 25.9 points, 5.4 rebounds, 5.1 assists, and 1.3 steals a game.
The fact that Anthony Edwards is only entering his fifth year in the league should excite thousands of Timberwolves fans. If he continues this form, an NBA title is not far from the horizon for this franchise.
