Anthony Edwards and the Minnesota Timberwolves play against the Brooklyn Nets on Thursday. Edwards and his crew are off to a three-game winning streak, following their 140-139 double-overtime win against the Denver Nuggets on Tuesday. The Wolves are hoping to extend their win streak to four games against the 12th-placed Nets team.
In the second quarter, however, Edwards suffered an unfortunate setback after a shot attempt. The All-Star guard grabbed an offensive rebound after Julius Randle’s missed 3-pointer. The shooting guard, who was at the corner spot, attempted a shot from beyond the arc. As he was going down, the Atlanta native didn’t have his balance as his momentum was pushing him backward, toward the direction of the Nets bench.

While he made the shot, his momentum caused him to step on the foot of Nets head coach, Jordi Fernandez. He stayed on the floor grabbing his left ankle, while Fernandez tried to assist the three-time All-Star. Minnesota called a timeout and helped him make his way back to the locker room.

Fortunately for the Wolves, Edwards was able to play through the injury. He started the second half for his team and continued playing. He ended the first two quarters with 15 points.
Edwards is integral in the Wolves’ success and road to the postseason. He’s the team’s top option, averaging 27.3 points (career-high), five rebounds and 4.6 assists in 73 games. With his play this year, he has the case to be named in any of the All-NBA teams. The star guard is also shooting a career-high 39.4% from deep on 10.2 attempts.
2023 champion reflects on their struggles against the Minnesota Timberwolves

The Minnesota Timberwolves game against the Denver Nuggets was one of the most competitive bouts this year. The Wolves finished their season series against the Nuggets on a high note as they capped it off with a 4-0 record. On Thursday, 2023 champion DeAndre Jordan had a moment of reflection in their matchup against Minnesota.
“Man, it should be a concern. I think anytime a team sweeps you throughout the season, it’s concerning,” Jordan said in his appearance at FanDuel TV’s Run It Back. “We don’t want to overreact, but we definitely have to look in the mirror, look at film, and look at different ways that we have to be successful.”
