The Minnesota Timberwolves are on their way to their second-straight Western Conference finals appearance. On Wednesday, they eliminated the Golden State Warriors, 121-110, to advance to the third round. The Wolves took advantage of the Warriors team that did not have Stephen Curry. The two-time MVP was out for most of the series with a right hamstring strain.
Even with that achievement, however, the Wolves aren’t satisfied. To Anthony Edwards, the ultimate goal is to win the Larry O’Brien trophy in the NBA Finals. However, they’ll have to win two more series to reach that feat.
After eliminating the Warriors, All-Star center Rudy Gobert was asked if there’s a level of satisfaction in making it back to the conference finals. However, Edwards stole the chance and answered the inquiry himself.
“There is no satisfaction. We just got here, we haven’t did anything yet… he’s [Gobert] not satisfied,” Edwards said.
The three-time Defensive Player of the Year added this:
“That’s exactly how it feels.”
The Wolves have to wait for whichever team between the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Denver Nuggets will win the series. The Thunder hold a 3-2 lead in the series and can end it on Thursday. However, the Nuggets are still determined to fight back and force a Game 7.
As for Minnesota, they will enjoy a temporary break from the physically daunting postseason.
Former NBA player commends the growth of the Minnesota Timberwolves star
Many believe that the Minnesota Timberwolves star has taken the next step and is now a superstar in the NBA. After sending Curry, Draymond Green and the Warriors home, former NBA player Kendrick Perkins commended Edwards for his growth.
Perk posted on X (formerly Twitter), to show his appreciation of how the three-time All-Star has performed.
“Just watching the growth of Ant Edwards right now is amazing thing to see! Just giving his teammates confidence and making them better. Best young leader in the game,” Perkins posted.

Perkins also criticized the Warriors’ stars, Green and Jimmy Butler, for their lack of aggression in an elimination game.
“I picked the Timberwolves in 6 to win this series… I thought Jimmy and Draymond was going to at least fight tonight and force a Game 6. Been waiting on Draymond to accept the Challenge of guarding Randle but I guess that won’t happen.”
Without their best star, Golden State couldn’t keep up with Edwards and the Minnesota Timberwolves.
