Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards has had enough of the criticism of today’s NBA, saying they’re merely taking the best shots available and not just jacking up three-pointers for the sake of it.

At the same time, Edwards pointed to tall players like Victor Wembanyama as a reason why the game is changing. With guys like Wembanyama patrolling the paint, Edwards believes having a reliable three-point shot is a valuable weapon.
“What they want us to do? It’s four people in the paint. If they leaving us open for the three ball, I think that’s just taking what the game give you,” Edwards said via Mark Elibert of Complex.

“You got Wemby. You got these boys. They tall. They big. They blocking shots, man. We not forcing our way to the paint every time,” he added. So, everybody can think what they want to think, but I just feel like the game changes. Guys want to shoot threes and guys are good at it. The viewership is down. I don’t know what they got to do, lower the rim or something?”
Anthony Edwards is balling for the Minnesota Timberwolves
Anthony Edwards is in fine scoring form, as he recorded three consecutive 40-point games earlier this week against the Chicago Bulls, Houston Rockets, and Cleveland Cavaliers.

He was held to 28 points on 10-for-33 shooting from the field against the Milwaukee Bucks yesterday, leading to a loss. Edwards will look to redeem himself on Thursday when the Minnesota Timberwolves take on the Oklahoma City Thunder in their final match before the NBA All-Star break.
