The Minnesota Timberwolves lived to fight another day, as they defeated the Dallas Mavericks 105-100 in Game 4 of their best-of-seven Western Conference Finals series on Tuesday to avoid the sweep.
Anthony Edwards and Karl-Anthony Towns played great when it mattered most for the Minnesota Timberwolves, with the former finishing with 29 points, 10 rebounds, and nine assists, and the latter having 25 points, five rebounds, and four three-pointers.
Because of how well he played in Game 4, narrowly missing out on a rare playoff triple-double, Anthony Edwards received praise from Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving. The 22-year-old will need another performance like this if they will extend their season.
Game 5 between the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Dallas Mavericks will be held on Thursday at Target Center. No team has ever come back from a 3-0 deficit in the history of the NBA playoffs, but Minnesota is looking to be the first one.
Anthony Edwards makes a huge promise for the Minnesota Timberwolves and Micah Parsons
Following their Game 4 win, the mood in the Minnesota Timberwolves locker room has lightened up a little. During the postgame press conference, Anthony Edwards said they will win Game 5 and return to Dallas, Texas for Game 6.
At the same time, the two-time NBA All-Star plans to give his friend and Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons, who was rocking a Luka Doncic jersey in Game 4, his new Adidas signature shoes, the AE 1.
“What am I supposed to say? I’m supposed to say we are going to lose Game 5? No, I’ll never say that,” Edwards told reporters.
“Micah Parsons, you know, he was rocking the AE 1’s and I told him, he wear a size 14, I’ll bring him back some nice shoes for Game 6. That’s what I told him,” he added via Ben Golliver on X (formerly known as Twitter).
